Guwahati: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the death of renowned singer Zubeen Garg has taken a significant step forward with two more Assamese NRIs, Abhimanyu Talukdar and Tanmoy Phukan, joining the investigation. They appeared at the CID office in Guwahati to cooperate with the SIT.
Tanmoy Phukan, reportedly the person who booked the yacht, and Abhimanyu Talukdar, president of the Assam Association in Singapore, are expected to provide crucial information about the circumstances surrounding the yacht party and its possible connection to Garg’s death.
With their statements, the total number of Assamese NRIs who have provided statements to the SIT has reached seven. Earlier, Rupkamal Kalita, Jalongsat Narzary, Parikshit Sharma, Siddharth Bora, and Bhaskarjyoti Dutta had also appeared before the investigators.
The SIT is diligently pursuing all leads to establish the exact sequence of events surrounding the tragedy. The investigation is ongoing, with the SIT officials working meticulously to uncover the facts.
