Two PSOs of Singer Zubeen Garg Arrested by CID

Guwahati: In a major breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the death of singer Zubeen Garg, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrested two of his personal security officers (PSOs), identified as Nandeshwar Bora and Paresh Baishya. The arrests came after four consecutive days of questioning by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Both officers were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court today, where the SIT sought 14-day custody for further interrogation.

The arrests follow their suspension on October 7 over allegations of financial irregularities. According to officials, the CID initiated a probe after receiving complaints of serious monetary mismanagement involving the duo.

Sources close to the investigation revealed that the SIT uncovered substantial evidence pointing to large-scale financial transactions linked to the two PSOs. Preliminary findings suggest that around ₹70 lakh was transferred through Nandeshwar Bora’s account, while approximately ₹40 lakh was routed through Paresh Baishya’s account — allegedly involving funds belonging to the singer.
