Two senior officers of the Sikkim Civil Service (SCS) have been formally inducted into the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), marking a significant advancement in the state’s administrative framework. The induction, confirmed by an official on Friday, was carried out against vacancies listed under the Select List of 2024.
Sarika Pradhan and Norzing Tsering Shenga, both belonging to the 2002 batch of the SCS cadre, have been promoted following over two decades of service in key government roles. Their elevation comes after their names were recommended through the standard selection process.
Pradhan currently serves as the Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, while Shenga is posted as the Secretary of the Food and Civil Supplies Department. Their transition to the IAS is seen as an important milestone for Sikkim’s bureaucracy, reflecting their long-standing contributions to the state administration.
