Two Suspected Bangladeshi Nationals Detained in Guwahati, Probe Underway

Guwahati, June 24: Two suspected Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by local residents at a lodge in Guwahati’s Paltan Bazar area on suspicion of entering India without valid travel documents.

According to reports, the incident occurred at Bobby Lodge, where the two individuals were allegedly staying. Local residents reportedly became suspicious and detained them before handing them over to the police.

Preliminary information suggests that the individuals had entered India without possessing valid travel documents.

During initial questioning, the detainees allegedly told investigators that they had entered the country with the assistance of an agent identified as Hridoy Deka.

Police have taken both individuals into custody and launched a detailed investigation into the matter. Authorities are examining the alleged role of the suspected facilitator and probing whether a larger network was involved in facilitating illegal entry into the country.
