Hojai, June 8: In a significant operation against drug trafficking, police from Hojai and Doboka jointly apprehended two suspected drug peddlers and seized a substantial quantity of suspected narcotic substances at Bhedauti in Doboka.
The operation was carried out following specific intelligence inputs regarding alleged drug trafficking activities in the area. Acting on the information, police launched a coordinated raid that led to the arrest of the two suspects.
During the operation, officers recovered and seized 15 soap boxes containing suspected narcotic substances, believed to be heroin, from the possession of the accused. The contraband was confiscated and taken into police custody as part of the investigation.
The two individuals were arrested on the spot and are currently being questioned by investigators. Police said efforts are underway to determine the source of the seized drugs and ascertain whether the accused are linked to a larger trafficking network operating in the region.
Officials indicated that the investigation remains ongoing and further arrests may be made as additional leads emerge from the probe.
