Itanagar, Aug 14: An Assam Rifles camp at Longvi under Nampong Police Station in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district came under attack early Friday, with suspected cadres of the ULFA-I and NSCN (K-YA) opening fire at the camp, officials said.
The attack took place at around 3.15 am, following which Assam Rifles personnel retaliated. The suspected attackers fled into a nearby jungle after the exchange of fire, sources said.
No casualties have been reported so far.
Security forces launched a search operation in the area to track down the suspected militants. Surveillance has also been intensified in and around the camp following the incident.
Further details are awaited as the operation continues.
