Union Minister Ajay Tamta Begins Three-Day Visit to Sikkim to Review NH Projects

Bagdogra, June 4: Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Ajay Tamta arrived at Bagdogra Airport on Wednesday for a three-day official visit to Sikkim from June 4 to June 6.

During the visit, the Minister is scheduled to inspect key National Highway projects in the state, including National Highway 10, National Highway 710 and National Highway 510. The review is expected to focus on assessing ongoing construction and upgradation works aimed at improving connectivity in the Himalayan region.

He will also chair review meetings on various Central Government programmes and infrastructure development initiatives being implemented across Sikkim. Officials said the visit is intended to evaluate the progress of key projects and ensure timely execution of highway works critical to the state’s economic and logistical development.

Upon his arrival, Ajay Tamta was received by officials from the Protocol Unit at Camp Bagdogra and Liaison Officer Jigme Lachungpa of the Roads and Bridges Department.

The visit is expected to place strong emphasis on strengthening road connectivity and accelerating infrastructure development projects across Sikkim.
