Union Minister of State, Government of India Shobha Karandlaj visits Biswanath

Guwahati/Biswanath Chariali: Union Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Labour and Employment, Government of India, Shobha Karandlaj held a review meeting with senior officials of the district today. The Union Minister of State reviewed the progress of central and state government schemes implemented through about twenty-five departments of the district with the heads of concerned departments in the district. The union minister said this in the presence of Sonitpur Lok Sabha MP Ranjit Dutta, Biswanath Assembly constituency MLA Pramod Barthakur and Behali Assembly constituency MLA Diganta Ghatwal at the conference room of Biswanath District Commissioner. The minister also directed to expedite the implementation of the schemes. The Minister also informed about the plans taken by the government to take Biswanath district forward through equal development.

After the review meeting, Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaj also conducted field inspections of several schemes implemented in various parts of the district. The Minister visited Galia Jal Jeevan Mission in Biswanath and visited Budhigang Erabari Gaon Panchayat office. The Minister then visited Biswanath Ghat, known as Guptakashi, and inspected the paper plate manufacturing industry of Nilam Saikia, an entrepreneurial youth from Biswanath.

The meeting was attended by Sonitpur Lok Sabha MP Ranjit Dutta, Biswanath Assembly constituency MLA Pramod Barthakur, Behali Assembly constituency MLA Diganta Ghatwal, Biswanath District Commissioner Seemanta Kumar Das, Senior Superintendent of Police Azagauran Basumatary and Zila Parishad CEO Liza Talukdar, Additional District Commissioners Rakesh Deka and Asim Bargohain, Assistant Commissioners and heads of various departments of the district were present.
