USTM Inaugurates NCC Combined Annual Training Camp 2025

Guwahati: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM), in collaboration with the 42 Meghalaya Battalion NCC, inaugurated the Combined Annual Training Camp 2025 (CATC-103) on Thursday, reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment and national service.

The inaugural ceremony began with the ceremonial installation of the prestigious NCC Lancer Flag and T Flags by Army personnel, followed by a disciplined Guard of Honour by the cadets.

Brigadier Thongam Joten Singh, Group Commander of Shillong Group NCC, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his address, he urged cadets to embody the core values of discipline, leadership, and service to the nation, while commending USTM for its consistent support to NCC activities.

Also present were Lt. Col. Virender Pant and Lt. Col. Shashank Parmar, who highlighted the transformative impact of NCC training on young minds.

USTM Chancellor Mahbubul Hoque extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and emphasized the university’s mission to nurture disciplined and service-oriented leaders. Guests were felicitated with traditional Gamusas and mementos, reflecting the region’s cultural heritage.

The 10-day camp will engage over 500 cadets from various institutions in rigorous modules, including drill and fitness training, weapon handling, map reading, disaster management, personality development, cultural events, and social service activities.

The event concluded with a renewed sense of pride and motivation among cadets, as USTM reiterated its role in shaping future leaders through meaningful partnerships with NCC.
