Guwahati: The Vande Bharat Sleeper Express operating on the Kamakhya–Howrah route has been receiving overwhelming appreciation from passengers, emerging as a benchmark for comfort, punctuality, and service quality in long-distance rail travel. Since its regular operation began, the train has consistently maintained 100 per cent punctuality and has recorded zero complaints on the Rail Madad platform in recent days.
Inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, recently, the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express marked a significant milestone in the modernisation journey of Indian Railways. Passengers have widely lauded the train’s modern design, smooth riding experience, enhanced safety features, and superior onboard amenities, which together have transformed overnight travel between Assam and West Bengal.
Travellers have particularly appreciated the sleeper-class comfort and the introduction of premium bed rolls for the first time on this service. The blanket covers featuring traditional Sanganeri print have drawn special praise for being hygienic, comfortable, and visually appealing. Cleanliness, especially of vestibule toilets, has also been highlighted as a strong positive by passengers.
While a few catering-related complaints were reported during the initial days of operation, railway authorities acted swiftly to address the issues. Following corrective measures, passengers have expressed satisfaction with the improved quality and taste of food served onboard. The hospitality staff deployed on the train are being systematically trained to ensure courteous behaviour and efficient passenger handling.
The success of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express reflects the Government of India’s vision of providing faster, safer, and more comfortable rail travel. With its growing popularity and consistently positive feedback, the Kamakhya–Howrah service stands as a symbol of innovation, excellence, and the future of long-distance rail travel in the country.
