Veer Lachit Sena Leader Bikash Axom Surrenders Before Dispur Police

Guwahati:  Veer Lachit Sena leader Bikash Axom, who has been at the centre of recent controversies, surrendered before the Dispur Police on Saturday. He is currently being held at the Dispur Police Station for questioning in connection with an alleged extortion case.

Axom had been on the run for several days after police issued an arrest warrant against him. Earlier in the day, before surrendering, he made a post on Facebook declaring his intention to turn himself in. In the post, he revealed that he had just watched Zubeen Garg’s final film Roi Roi Binale and urged others to watch it as well.

“I had the desire to watch the movie. Since my arrest is certain, I decided to watch it first and then cooperate with the police,” he wrote in the emotional post, which quickly gained widespread attention online.

While in hiding, Axom had also reportedly written a letter accusing the government of paying social media influencers to downplay the ongoing Zubeen Garg case, further intensifying public discussions surrounding the issue.

Police officials confirmed that Bikash Axom is being interrogated, and further legal proceedings will follow as the investigation continues.
