Villager Injured in Alleged Attack in Kangpokpi, Residents Seek Inquiry

Kangpokpi, May 31: A resident of Konsakhul Naga Village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district sustained serious injuries in an alleged attack by armed individuals on May 30, according to local sources.

The incident reportedly took place at around 10.30 a.m. and followed the alleged disruption of a water supply pipeline serving the village. Residents claimed that the pipeline was cut, affecting the village’s water supply and escalating tensions in the area.

Sources from Konsakhul village alleged that armed individuals, purportedly acting in collaboration with some residents of neighbouring Leilon Vaiphei village, attacked civilians. One villager was seriously injured in the incident and was later provided medical treatment, they said.

Condemning the alleged attack and the disruption of the water supply, residents described the incidents as a threat to peace and security in the area. They appealed to the administration to intervene and ensure the safety of villagers.

The residents also demanded immediate restoration of the damaged water supply infrastructure and called for a thorough inquiry into the incident. They urged authorities to take appropriate action against those found responsible following an investigation.
