Nagaon, May 31: A woman was killed in a road accident in Assam’s Nagaon district late Saturday night, triggering a temporary blockade on the Nagaon–Nolaltoli State Highway as residents demanded improved road safety measures.
The incident occurred at South Bhomoraguri in Ambagan when a speeding motorcycle allegedly struck a pedestrian, identified as Laxmi Mondal. She sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Jakhalabandha Hospital, where she was declared dead.
