Yoga & Wellness Center inaugurated at District Jail, Nalbari

Nagaon/Nalbari: A Yoga & Wellness Center (Y&WC) under the National AYUSH Mission, Assam, operated by Arogya Care Foundation, Nagaon, was formally inaugurated at District Jail, Nalbari today. The programme commenced with a welcome address by the Jailor, District Jail Nalbari. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr Manab Kumar Chaudhary, Joint Director of Health Services, Nalbari, Dr Hemen Kumar Sarma, District Nodal Officer (AYUSH), Nalbari, and Mrinal Kanti Deka, dealing assistant AYUSH Nalbari.

      Addressing the gathering, the Joint Director of Health Services highlighted the importance of yoga and wellness activities in promoting physical and mental well-being among inmates. The District Nodal Officer (AYUSH) also spoke on the role of Yoga and Wellness Centers under the National AYUSH Mission in improving health outcomes and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.

       Yoga Instructors Nirmal Sarkar and Archana Bhuyan coordinated the programme and conducted yoga related activities. Jail officials, staff members, and inmates were present on the occasion. In a press note issued by Arogya Care Foundation, Nagaon it’s mentioned here that the center will provide regular yoga sessions and wellness activities for inmates throughout the year.
