Manipur CM Assures Priority to Student Concerns After Meeting DMU Students’ Union

Imphal, March 6: Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Chief Minister of Manipur, on March 6 emphasised the crucial role of young people in shaping the future of the state and assured that the concerns and voices of students would always be given priority by the government.

The Chief Minister made the statement after holding a meeting with representatives of the DMU Students’ Union at the Secretariat office. The delegation was accompanied by the president of the headquarters of the All Manipur Students’ Union.

During the interaction, the student representatives highlighted several issues related to student welfare. Among the concerns raised were matters related to scholarships, the posting of security guards, and the need for further improvements in the overall academic environment.

Addressing the delegation, Singh reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting students and ensuring their welfare. He said that students represent the future of the state and that their concerns would continue to receive due attention from the administration.

As a mark of respect, the delegation honoured the Chief Minister with a traditional Lengyan Fi and exchanged courtesies during the meeting.

Appreciating what he described as the constructive approach of the student representatives, Singh assured them that the government would make every effort to address the issues raised. He added that the administration remains committed to creating a safe, supportive and progressive academic environment while encouraging the aspirations of the youth.
