Tezpur: The Zila Udyam Samagam, organized under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme of the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, commenced on Wednesday at Tezpur in Sonitpur district. The event was inaugurated by District Commissioner Ananda Kumar Das, who attended as Chief Guest, alongside Morgan Meston, General Manager, District Industries and Commerce Centre (DICC), Sonitpur, and Abdul Amin, Deputy Manager, Assam Small Industries Development Corporation Ltd. (ASIDC).
The inaugural session saw active participation from entrepreneurs, start-up founders, and senior members of various citizens’ forums. In his address, DC Das encouraged local entrepreneurs to harness Sonitpur’s potential in key sectors like tourism and fisheries, stressing on collaboration, innovation, and sustainable business practices to accelerate regional development.
As part of the ceremony, 30 outstanding entrepreneurs and start-ups from across the district were felicitated with a fulam gamusa and citation for their contributions toward employment generation and industrial growth.

The event also features 50 exhibition stalls showcasing diverse products, innovations, and services by local MSMEs, artisans, and self-help groups, highlighting Sonitpur’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Organized by ASIDC in collaboration with DICC Sonitpur, the Zila Udyam Samagam aims to build trade linkages, facilitate networking with buyers and financial institutions, and strengthen the MSME sector. The event will continue till November 15, 2025.
