Bajali Students Begin Three-Day Celebration of Zubeen Garg’s 53rd Birthday

The Bajali District Students’ Union, joining a statewide initiative led by the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), launched a three-day celebration of iconic Assamese artist Zubeen Garg’s 53rd birthday at Azad Bhawan on Sunday, November 16. The opening day featured an art programme titled “A Day of Colours and Brushes,” held under the theme “Thought and Creation: Zubeen Garg.”

Students from across Bajali took part in the event, producing striking portraits of the beloved singer and showcasing their admiration through creative expression. The programme ran from morning until 7 pm, concluding with a vibrant display of artworks reflecting Garg’s enduring influence on Assam’s cultural landscape.

The Bajali District Students’ Union announced that the celebrations would continue over the next two days in line with statewide observances. As part of the extended activities, Nahor saplings will be planted at various locations and distributed to educational institutions across the district to promote environmental awareness.

The first day of the tribute concluded on a successful and heartfelt note, setting an enthusiastic tone for the remaining events honouring one of Assam’s most cherished cultural icons.
