Guwahati: The Guwahati Sports Association (GSA), in association with NorthEast United FC, is set to organise the 5th GSA Youth & Kids League Football Tournament 2026 from September 12 to October 11 at different venues in Guwahati. The grassroots football tournament aims to provide young players with regular competitive exposure, helping them develop their skills, gain match experience and showcase their potential. The latest edition has received an overwhelming response, with around 130 teams and nearly 2,000 young footballers registering across different age categories.

Matches will primarily be played on Saturdays, Sundays and state and national holidays. In view of the half-yearly examinations of school students, Saturday matches will be held exclusively in the evening under floodlights. The arrangement is intended to help young footballers balance their academic responsibilities with sporting commitments.
The tournament will feature competitions in the U-7, U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15, U-17 and U-19 age groups. Matches for the U-7 to U-15 categories will be held at Judges’ Field, Guwahati, while U-17 and U-19 matches will be played at the GTC Football Academy Ground in Phulung. The league is one of GSA’s flagship grassroots initiatives and reflects its continued efforts to nurture young footballing talent and create a structured pathway for aspiring players. The large-scale participation this year highlights the growing popularity of competitive football among children and youngsters in Guwahati and surrounding areas. The organisers expect an exciting and competitive tournament over the coming weeks.
