National, March 9: Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, on Monday (March 9) said the country’s health infrastructure has strengthened significantly in recent years, emphasising the government’s focus on preventive and holistic healthcare.
Addressing a post-Budget webinar titled Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas – Fulfilling Aspirations of People, Modi said fulfilling the aspirations of citizens forms the foundation of the Union Budget and reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive development.
The prime minister stated that India is moving towards a preventive and comprehensive healthcare model, noting that hundreds of new medical colleges are being established across various districts to strengthen the health ecosystem.
He also highlighted the expansion of healthcare services through schemes such as Ayushman Bharat and the establishment of Ayushman Arogya Mandir to improve access to medical facilities in rural areas.
Modi further said that India’s traditional systems of wellness, including Yoga and Ayurveda, are gaining increasing global recognition.
Emphasising the growing importance of the care economy, he added that the rising global demand for caregivers is creating new skill-based employment opportunities for lakhs of young people across the country.
