Tripura TTAADC Polls: BJP Announces 28 Candidates, Fields Key Leaders Across Constituencies

Agartala, March 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party in Tripura has unveiled its full list of 28 candidates for the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), placing senior party functionaries in key constituencies as it prepares for the polls.

Among the prominent nominees, state secretary Devid Debbarma has been fielded from the Ramchandraghat constituency in Khowai district, while party general secretary Bipin Debbarma will contest from the Damcherra–Kachucharra seat, signalling the party’s intent to deploy experienced leadership in the electoral contest.

The candidate list was released by state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharya in the presence of Chief Minister Manik Saha and other senior leaders, marking the formal start of the party’s campaign for the council elections.

Speaking to the media, Bhattacharya said the BJP will contest all 28 seats and that candidates will complete the nomination process within the stipulated timeline. He expressed confidence that voters would endorse the party’s agenda centred on development and transparent governance.

Reinforcing the campaign narrative, Saha stated that development continues to be the government’s primary focus. He highlighted welfare measures aimed at Janajati communities and noted that a substantial share of the state budget has been directed towards their upliftment.

The Chief Minister added that the party would take its development record to the electorate, expressing confidence of strong public backing in the TTAADC elections.
