Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri Denounces Rumours of District Division as Baseless

Guwahati, March 25: Amid growing public speculation, Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri on March 25 strongly refuted reports suggesting a potential division of Morigaon district and the relocation of key government offices, describing them as “false, baseless, and deliberately misleading.”

Addressing the media, Deuri alleged that the rumours were part of a “well-orchestrated conspiracy” by vested interests aimed at creating unwarranted panic among residents. He clarified that no official proposal or plan exists to alter the administrative boundaries or move government establishments within the district.

The BJP leader emphasised that claims of splitting Morigaon, merging parts with neighbouring districts, or shifting important offices were entirely unfounded. “Such misinformation is being spread intentionally to serve personal or political agendas,” he warned, calling on citizens to remain cautious and rely solely on official communication.

Deuri’s statement comes after the rumours began circulating widely, sparking anxiety among locals about potential administrative changes. By publicly addressing the issue, he aimed to dispel the speculation and reaffirm the district’s administrative integrity.
