‘Operation Sindoor’: Bhushan Kumar, Vivek Agnihotri Announce Film on India’s 2025 Cross-Border Strikes

Entertainment, March 26: Film producer Bhushan Kumar and filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri on March 26 announced a new feature film titled Operation Sindoor, inspired by India’s targeted military strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir following the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack.

The film will be directed by Agnihotri and jointly produced by Kumar’s T-Series along with I Am Budha Productions. The project is adapted from the book Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan by K. J. S. Dhillon.

According to the makers, the film is based on what they describe as a defining moment marked by strategic precision and military resolve. It draws from the events following the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir in 2025, in which 26 people, most of them tourists, were killed.

Kumar said the story carries both urgency and responsibility, noting that some narratives demand to be told with honesty and courage. He described the film as more than a cinematic project, calling it a revelation shaped by real events.

Agnihotri stated that the film aims to present a deeper and more detailed account of the circumstances surrounding the strikes. He said extensive ground-level research was carried out in collaboration with multiple wings of the Indian Armed Forces to understand the operational and strategic aspects of the mission. According to him, the findings reflect a reality more complex and precise than what is widely known.

Known for films such as The Kashmir Files, The Tashkent Files and The Bengal Files, Agnihotri said his approach continues to focus on presenting stories that are often difficult but necessary. He emphasised that the intention is to present facts with clarity through cinema.

Further details, including the cast and release timeline, are expected to be announced in due course.
