25-Year-Old Lobo Narzary to Contest Kokrajhar Seat as Independent in Assam Assembly Polls

Guwahati, March 29: A 25-year-old youth from Soraibil in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, Lobo Narzary, has announced his decision to contest the 2026 Assam Assembly elections as an Independent candidate from the No. 3 Kokrajhar Assembly constituency.

With this move, Narzary is set to emerge as one of the youngest contenders in the state’s upcoming electoral battle. He said his entry into politics is guided by a vision to accelerate development in the region and address the growing need for employment opportunities among local youth.

Speaking to the media, Narzary outlined his campaign priorities, stating that issues such as infrastructure development, job creation, and overall regional progress would remain central to his agenda. He emphasised the need for focused efforts to improve living standards and generate sustainable opportunities within the constituency.

Projecting confidence in his prospects, Narzary said he expects voters to back his call for “fresh leadership” and a new approach to governance. His candidature adds a new dynamic to the contest in Kokrajhar, where political activity is intensifying ahead of the Assembly elections.
