Biswanath Chariali: A Jaipur Foots Camp was recently held under the aegis of Indian Red Cross Society Biswanath District branch at Biswanath Commerce Senior secondary School in collaboration with Bhagawan Mahavir Vikalanga Sahayata Samiti and Assam science society Biswanath Chariali branch. The two day long programme for disabled persons began with an inaugural session which was chaired by Rana Prasad Hazarika, the president of the Red Cross society Biswanath District branch.

The whole program was anchored by Dr. Sanjib Upadhyaya, general secretary of the Red Cross Society Biswanath District branch. Dignitaries including Jiten Bhagawati, State representative, Dr Sushil Goswami, Assoc. Professor of BNCA Dr Ratna Kingkor Goswami, former general secretary of IRCS Biswanath District Dr Amal Saikia, eminent physician and others were present on the occasion. The programme was inaugurated by Dr J.C Bey, joint Director of Health Services, Biswanath where the welcome address was delivered by Purabi Bhattacharya, principal of the school. A total of 194 disabled persons got direct benefit from the Camp.
