IPL Mourns Death of British Broadcast Engineer Ian Langford

News Desk: The Indian Premier League Governing Council has expressed deep condolences over the untimely death of British engineer Ian William Langford, who was working with the league as a broadcast engineer. Langford was found unconscious in his South Mumbai hotel room and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

In an official statement, the IPL said, “The IPL Governing Council and all stakeholders express their deepest condolences on the untimely demise of Mr. Ian William Langford, a dedicated broadcast engineer who was an integral part of our broadcast operations. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”

The league also assured full support to the bereaved family during this difficult time, while reiterating that the health and safety of all personnel associated with the IPL remain a top priority. Meanwhile, Mumbai’s Marine Drive Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and initiated an investigation into the incident. Officials stated that the exact cause of death is yet to be determined. Preliminary findings suggest no signs of foul play, though authorities are continuing their inquiry to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
