Tamulpur: A massive election rally under the NDA’s Vijay Sankalp Yatra was held at Shuklai Serfang playground in the 44-Goreswar Assembly constituency, with top leaders expressing confidence in a sweeping victory for the alliance in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) region. Addressing the gathering, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted that NDA candidates would win all 15 BTC seats. Campaigning in support of BJP-nominated candidate Victor Kumar Das, he urged voters to back the lotus symbol, highlighting that the BJP is in power both at the Centre and in the state.

Earlier, BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary expressed confidence that Das’s victory was “100 percent certain,” pointing to the large turnout, especially of women voters. The Chief Minister also announced several welfare and development initiatives, including 10,000 new beneficiaries under the Orunodoi scheme, ₹25,000 financial assistance for women, and expansion of schemes like Nijut Moina. He further stated that Goreswar would be upgraded to a co-district by August 15 and promised infrastructure projects, including a flyover and benefits for students.
Highlighting employment, Sarma said 1.65 lakh youths had already been provided jobs, with plans to offer another 2 lakh positions, including 75,000 teaching posts. The rally was attended by Deputy Speaker Numal Momin and several BTC leaders. Later, Sarma commented on regional leadership, suggesting that Pramod Boro remain in the Rajya Sabha and Biswajit Daimary in the Assembly to ensure balanced development in the region.
