The government has intensified evacuation efforts, particularly from Iran. According to the MEA, 204 Indian nationals have already crossed into Azerbaijan via land routes and are being repatriated. Authorities expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for facilitating the safe passage. India is also maintaining its presence in peacekeeping operations, with around 600 troops deployed under the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The MEA condemned recent attacks on peacekeepers and stressed the need to ensure the safety and inviolability of UN missions.
Officials said coordination is ongoing between Indian missions, the Ministry of Shipping, and international partners to assist affected citizens and ensure safe evacuation amid disruptions to air travel. The government has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the Indian diaspora and called for restraint, de-escalation, and a return to dialogue to resolve the conflict.
