Bajali Sets Up Themed Model Polling Stations to Boost Voter Experience

Guwahati, April 8: The Office of the District Election Officer in Bajali has finalised two Model Polling Stations for the upcoming elections, with a focus on improving voter convenience, accessibility, and overall experience.

According to officials, Sarupeta Girls High School has been selected for the 21 Bhawanipur-Sorbhog constituency, while Bajali Higher Secondary School will serve as the model station for the 26 Bajali constituency. These centres have been developed as benchmarks of efficiency and inclusivity, incorporating enhanced infrastructure and voter-friendly arrangements.

The initiative aims to streamline the voting process through clear signage, essential facilities, and dedicated provisions for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and first-time voters. Authorities have also introduced thematic concepts at both locations to promote awareness and engagement.

The Bhawanipur-Sorbhog station will follow a pink theme, highlighting the role of women in the democratic process, while the Bajali station will adopt a green theme to encourage environmental consciousness among voters.

Officials stated that both polling stations will feature additional amenities such as children’s play areas, emergency medical support, and refreshment stalls reflecting local ethnic diversity. As part of a special initiative, the first ten voters at each station will be given tree saplings, followed by plantation drives at both venues.

The district administration has urged voters to verify their polling details in advance, carry valid identification, and participate actively in the electoral process.
