Guwahati, April 24: The Gauhati High Court is set to pronounce its order on the anticipatory bail plea of senior Congress leader Pawan Khera on Friday, April 24.
The matter will be heard in the court of Justice Parthivjyoti Saikia, who had reserved the order after concluding arguments on April 21.
Khera had approached the High Court seeking relief in connection with a First Information Report registered in Assam. The case arises from a complaint linked to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, concerning allegations related to claims about multiple passports.
According to details available on the court’s official website, the bail petition was filed on April 20. During the previous hearing, both prosecution and defence presented their submissions, following which the bench reserved its order.
The court’s ruling is expected later in the day, with further details likely to emerge after the pronouncement.
