MBOSE HSSLC 2026 Results Declared: High Pass Rates Across Streams, Dechro Marak Tops Science

Shillong, May 4: The Meghalaya Board of School Education on May 4 announced the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) results for 2026, with strong pass percentages recorded across all streams following examinations held between February 18 and March 13.

Overall performance remained robust, with Arts registering a pass rate of 88.63 per cent, Commerce 87.49 per cent, Science 83.70 per cent and Vocational emerging as the top-performing stream with 95.23 per cent.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma congratulated students, noting that their achievement reflected dedication as well as the support of parents, teachers and institutions.

In the Science stream, Dechro M Marak of Don Bosco College secured the top position with 472 marks, the highest score across all streams this year. Amos Chinminlun of St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School followed with 470 marks, while Vishal Rai of Laban Bengalee Boys’ Higher Secondary School placed third with 464 marks. Dauniwan Sajem of St Anthony’s secured fourth position with 461 marks, and three students shared the 10th rank with 449 marks.

In the Arts stream, Meghashree Roy of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School topped with 457 marks. Joziah Daman Laloo of St Anthony’s stood second with 452 marks, followed by Nakisakahuni M Pakyntein, also from the same institution, with 446 marks. The 10th position was jointly held by students from St Edmund’s Higher Secondary School and North Liberty Higher Secondary School, reflecting participation from institutions beyond Shillong.

In Commerce, Priya Ghosh of St Edmund’s Higher Secondary School secured first place with 458 marks, followed by Ankita Das and Rishika Debnath of St Anthony’s with 453 and 452 marks respectively. The stream also saw multiple top-ten positions from St Anthony’s, with the seventh rank shared by three students scoring 441 marks.

Institutions in Shillong dominated the merit lists, with St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School emerging as the most prominent across streams. However, schools from outside the capital, including Don Bosco College in Tura and North Liberty Higher Secondary School in Mookyrdoop-Jowai, also featured among top performers.

Students dissatisfied with their results can apply for re-evaluation within two weeks of the declaration. The board has indicated that the re-evaluation process is expected to conclude by the fourth week of June. Results are available on the official websites using roll numbers.
