Heinrich Klaasen Surpasses Kane Williamson in SRH Records

Sports Desk: Despite Sunrisers Hyderabad’s heartbreaking exit from IPL 2026, star batter Heinrich Klaasen achieved a major personal milestone during the Eliminator clash against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday. Klaasen scored a quick 18 runs off 10 deliveries during Hyderabad’s chase at Mullanpur, and in the process surpassed former SRH captain Kane Williamson in the list of highest run-scorers for the franchise in IPL history. The South African wicketkeeper-batter now has more than 2,100 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad, moving ahead of Williamson’s tally and strengthening his place among the franchise’s modern greats. David Warner continues to lead the all-time run charts for SRH, followed by Shikhar Dhawan and Abhishek Sharma.

Klaasen has enjoyed a sensational IPL 2026 season and has been one of Hyderabad’s most consistent performers with the bat. Earlier in the tournament, he also became the first batter in IPL history to score more than 600 runs in a season while batting primarily at No. 4 or lower. However, his latest achievement came in a losing cause as Sunrisers Hyderabad were knocked out of the tournament after failing to chase Rajasthan Royals’ massive target of 244. Teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi stole the show with a stunning 97 off just 29 balls to power Rajasthan to victory. Although SRH’s IPL 2026 campaign ended in disappointment, Klaasen’s remarkable consistency throughout the season has once again highlighted his importance in Hyderabad’s batting line-up.
