Chandmari Flyover to Remain Closed for Night-Time Maintenance on October 13, 15, and 17

Guwahati: The Public Works (Roads) Department (PWRD), Government of Assam, has announced the temporary closure of the Chandmari Flyover for essential bearing replacement and maintenance work.

According to an official notification issued by the Executive Engineer, New Guwahati Territorial Road Division, the flyover stretch between Guwahati Commerce College traffic point and Chandmari traffic point will remain closed from 10 PM to 6 AM on October 13, 15, and 17, 2025.

During these night-time closures, all vehicles will be diverted through alternative routes, including Rajgarh–Pub Sarania Road, MT Road–Bamunimaidan Railway Colony Road, Mathgaria–Noonmati Road, and Krishnagar–Milanpur Road. Commuters have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and follow diversion signs to minimize inconvenience.

The notification has been circulated to the Chief Engineer (PWD Roads), Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro), and the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Guwahati for coordinated traffic management.

The PWRD stated that the bearing replacement work is crucial for ensuring the structural safety and longevity of the Chandmari Flyover, a vital link in the city’s road network. Authorities assured that the work will be completed within the scheduled period to avoid prolonged disruption.
