Tripura ARDD Achieves 98 Per Cent Target in 2025-26, Focus Shifts to Expanding Welfare Coverage

Agartala, June 22: Tripura Animal Resources Development Department (ARDD) Minister Sudhangshu Das on June 22 said the department registered a 98 per cent achievement rate during the 2025-26 financial year and is now concentrating on extending the benefits of welfare schemes to a larger section of people in the current fiscal.

The Minister made the statement after presiding over a departmental review meeting attended by Secretary Deepa D. Nair and ARDD Director Neeraj Kumar Chanchal.

During the meeting, the department reviewed the implementation of various state and centrally sponsored schemes, assessed achievements and challenges, and identified areas requiring further improvement.

Describing it as the first review meeting of the 2026-27 financial year, Das said such meetings are conducted twice annually to evaluate targets, monitor welfare programmes and assess the progress of implementation. He stated that a detailed roadmap would be prepared based on budget allocations under different schemes to ensure that benefits reach the people without delay.

Das said the department’s priority remains the effective utilisation of funds provided by both the state and central governments while maximising the impact of welfare initiatives.

He added that officials have been instructed to discharge their responsibilities with efficiency and accountability. Although certain infrastructure projects experienced delays due to tendering procedures and seasonal factors, the Minister said the department had performed commendably overall.

“Last year, our achievement rate stood at 98 per cent. Though we encountered some difficulties in construction-related works, the department has delivered outstanding results. We are now focused on widening the reach of welfare schemes and ensuring that a greater number of people benefit from them,” he said.
