Guwahati: The circulation of a purported post-mortem report of singer Zubeen Garg on social media has triggered widespread reactions, prompting both Garima Saikia Garg and AASU president Utpal Sarma to voice their concerns publicly.
Zubeen’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, took to Facebook expressing confusion and frustration over the alleged leak. She wrote, “I don’t understand anything… So mysterious, yet nothing is secret, not made public but everyone gets it! #JusticeForZubeenGarg.”
Meanwhile, AASU president Utpal Sarma also reacted on Facebook, urging the authorities to clarify the authenticity of the viral report. He stated, “SIT should clarify whether the leaked post-mortem report is genuine or fake. If it is genuine, SIT’s negligence is inexcusable. The one that leaked should definitely be punished – an open demand to the Chief Minister.”
However, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) swiftly intervened to dismiss the circulating document as fake. CID’s Special DGP Munna Prasad Gupta on Wednesday stated that the so-called post-mortem report is “completely fake, fabricated, and without any official basis.”
Addressing the media, Gupta urged people not to believe or spread such misinformation online. He emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that only verified findings will be released through official channels, warning that legal action will be taken against those creating or sharing fake documents.
The viral post-mortem report has added a fresh layer of speculation and tension around the ongoing probe into Zubeen Garg’s mysterious death in Singapore, which continues to draw intense public and media scrutiny across Assam.
