Army Camp Attack Aftermath: Suspect Truck Seized Near Assam-Arunachal Border, Manhunt Underway

Guwahati: In a significant breakthrough following a deadly late-night assault on an Indian Army camp in Kakopathar, police have successfully recovered the truck believed to have been used by the assailants. The vehicle, registered as AS 25 EC 2359, was found abandoned at Tengapani Ghat, situated along the Noa-Dihing River near the volatile Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border.

Security forces believe the militants used the truck to travel from the Doomdooma area before executing the strike. The attack involved the firing of three Under Barrel Grenade Launchers (UBGLs) at the camp, followed by sustained, heavy gunfire that lasted for approximately 30 minutes, causing widespread panic across the locality. This well-planned and coordinated operation resulted in injuries to at least three Indian Army personnel, all of whom are reported to be in stable condition.

Following the assault, investigators suspect the attackers fled across the border, utilizing the same riverbank route towards Arunachal Pradesh. This intelligence has prompted a massive joint operation involving multiple security agencies across the border areas to trace and apprehend the perpetrators. Preliminary investigations suggest the involvement of the banned insurgent outfit, ULFA (Independent), in the deadly incident. Police and Army units have been placed on high alert throughout upper Assam as the intensive search operations continue to locate the group responsible for the brazen attack.
