Three alleged drug peddlers were arrested during a police operation at a house in No. 1 Solmari under Morigaon Police Station, where officers recovered suspected heroin and other items, officials said.
The arrested individuals were identified as Dildar Ali, 23, Rekibuddin Ahmed, 18, and Aftar Hussain, 25, all residents of Morigaon district.
According to police, the operation was carried out at the residence of Rejiya Sultana following inputs regarding suspected drug-related activities. During the search, officers found 16 plastic containers containing suspected heroin weighing around 24.93 grams, including the weight of the containers.
Police also seized two Vivo mobile phones, a Realme handset and a syringe from the three suspects.
The accused have been taken into custody as investigators work to determine the source of the suspected narcotics and establish whether other individuals are linked to the alleged drug network.
The seizure comes amid intensified anti-drug operations across Assam aimed at curbing the illegal sale and distribution of narcotic substances.
