Udalguri-Sonitpur, August 18: An eight-day drama workshop organised by Sargam Kala Kendra with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, concluded at Kalistan, Singri, in Sonitpur district on August 18, using theatre to raise awareness about floods and epidemic prevention in rural areas.
The valedictory programme at the Youth Club featured two plays highlighting the devastation caused by floods, the difficulties faced by affected people and the importance of safety measures and cooperation with the administration during disasters.
The performances also focused on preventing and controlling epidemics following floods. The trainees highlighted the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and vigilance against health risks, while urging people to follow necessary precautions and cooperate with authorities.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates among the trainees who participated in the workshop.
