Guwahati, August 19: Assam-based entrepreneur and industry leader Partha Pratim Pathak has been appointed an Independent Director on the Board of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for a three-year term, effective August 18, 2026.
BEL is a Navratna public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence and is among India’s major defence electronics companies, with a strategic role in strengthening indigenous defence and technology capabilities.
Pathak is the Founder and President of Fresh Air Group and serves as Prant President of Laghu Udyog Bharati (LUB), Purvottar. He has more than two decades of entrepreneurial experience in environmental infrastructure, waste management, recycling and technology, and has been associated with MSME and industrial development in Assam and the Northeast.
His appointment brings representation from the region’s entrepreneurial and industrial community to the board of a strategically important defence PSU.
