Duliajan: The Inner Wheel Club of Duliajan felicitated Salantika Tanti, a special child associated with Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre, for winning two silver medals at the Special Olympics Bharat–State Games, Assam, held in Guwahati.
Salantika secured silver medals in the 100-metre race and softball throw. The felicitation was organised under the club’s “Fit Girl” initiative, part of its Flagship Sports Initiative to encourage girls to participate in fitness and sports.
The award ceremony was held during the Annual General Meeting of Mrinaljyoti Rehabilitation Centre, where Salantika was presented with a Fulam Gamosa, memento and cash award by the club.
Two dance performances by hearing-impaired students opened the meeting. The performances were directed by Inner Wheel Club member Bonti Hazarika.
Seven club members participated in the initiative, which involved an expenditure of ₹3,000 over three hours.
