Tezpur: A Special Cancer Awareness cum Screening Camp was organized at the Headquarter of Chief Engineer (Project) Vartak in collaboration with the Border Roads Organisation, Project Vartak. The awareness session was led by Dr. Sanjeev K Gupta, Senior Consultant and In-Charge, Department of Clinical Oncology, Tezpur Cancer Centre. Addressing the gathering Dr. Gupta spoke on the prevalence and risk factors of cancer, with special emphasis on oral, breast and cervical cancers in Northeast India.

He highlighted recent advancements in cancer treatment and underscored the importance of regular screening, early detection and cervical cancer vaccination. He also apprised the participants of the comprehensive cancer care services available at ACCF Hospitals and Tezpur Cancer Centre. Among others, Dr. Selvaraj M, CMO HQ CE (P) Vartak, Dipti Moni Das, Zonal Coordinator; Dr. Ankita Bhuyan, Dental Surgeon; trained nurses were present in the event. The awareness session was followed by a cancer screening camp conducted by the Community Outreach Programme (COP) Team, Tezpur.
