Guwahati, Aug 26: Dr Angkita Dutta has made a sacred offering at Tirumala by shaving her head at the feet of Lord Shri Venkateswara.
Sharing a poignant photograph on social media, Dr Dutta said the act was more than just offering hair to the divine.
Writing in Assamese, she described it as a “sacred surrender” — an offering of her ego, attachment and self-pride at God’s feet.
She said the offering was made with “gratitude for the past, faith in the present, and complete surrender towards the coming future.”
Referring to her hair as “a very dear possession of mine”, Dr Dutta concluded her post with the chant “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya”.
