Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu participated in a cleanliness drive at Mallo Tarin Government Higher Secondary School in Itanagar on September 17, marking the state-level rollout of Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026 alongside the launch of the “Swachh Paathshala – Yuva for Swachhata” initiative.
Working alongside students and local youth, Khandu emphasized the need for collective action to maintain clean, hygienic surroundings and foster long-term behavioral change.
Operating under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag; Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat,” the campaign positions youth at the core of civic outreach to promote responsible waste management and instill lasting hygiene practices that extend from classrooms into the broader community.
