DHAKUAKHANA, Sept 19: A memorial programme was held at Dhakuakhana Teachers’ Training College to pay tribute to Assamese singer and cultural icon Zubeen Garg, with faculty members and trainee teachers remembering his contribution to Assam’s socio-cultural life.
The programme began with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp and floral tributes before Zubeen Garg’s portrait. Faculty members and trainee teachers later performed several of his songs, creating an atmosphere of remembrance and reverence.
Faculty members recalled his artistic legacy and described his contribution to Assam’s cultural landscape as significant. They said his music would continue to inspire people and preserve his memory.
The trainee teachers also shared their admiration for the singer and remembered him as a source of inspiration. The programme concluded with silent prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
