Kash flowers herald autumn along Dhakuakhana’s Charikoriya river

White plumes of kash flowers have transformed the banks of the Charikoriya river in Dhakuakhana into a picturesque autumn landscape, signalling the arrival of the season and the approaching period of goddess worship.

The flowers, swaying gently in the breeze, have also spread across the riverine sandbars of the Brahmaputra, creating expansive white carpets against the natural landscape. Their seasonal bloom has brought a distinctive charm to the countryside as autumn settles in.

Along the Charikoriya river, the sight of kash flowers has begun drawing residents and visitors eager to enjoy the seasonal scenery. While some capture the landscape in selfies, others pause to take in the tranquil surroundings and hum autumn songs.

The blooming flowers, closely associated with Assam’s autumn season, have long inspired poets and artists. Their appearance along Dhakuakhana’s riverbanks now offers a vivid reminder of the changing season and adds to the region’s natural beauty.
