Manipur Naga MLAs hold talks with government amid demand for Nemcha Kipgen’s removal

Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho said Naga legislators had held discussions with the state government and senior security officials to address the prevailing situation amid demands for the resignation or removal of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen.

Dikho said Naga MLAs had met to discuss ways to improve the situation and had raised their concerns with Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Director General of Police and Security Advisor.

“We are trying our best. Even today, we had a meeting among our Naga MLAs on how to bring about an immaculate situation. We have had discussions with all the concerned, including the Chief Minister, the DGP and the Security Advisor, to apprise them of the situation and discuss how to bring it under control,” Dikho said.

The discussions come as Naga legislators press for Kipgen’s resignation or removal. Further details on the outcome of the talks and the government’s response to the demand are awaited.
