The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder increased by ₹10 to ₹2,820 from November 1, while aviation turbine fuel (ATF) became costlier by ₹1.38 per litre, according to state-owned oil companies.
The latest revision marked the second consecutive monthly increase in commercial LPG rates. The price had risen by ₹62.50 on October 1, following reductions of ₹192 in August and ₹183.50 in July.
A 19-kg commercial cylinder, which cost ₹1,740.50 in February, had reached a record ₹3,113.50 in June amid disruptions to global energy supplies and high international prices. Subsequent cuts brought the rate down before the latest increases.
The price of ATF rose to ₹138.50 per litre from ₹137.12, marking its fourth consecutive monthly increase. It had gone up by ₹5 per litre in August, ₹6.28 in September and ₹16 in October. As aviation fuel accounts for up to 40 per cent of an airline’s operating costs, the increase is expected to raise carriers’ expenses.
Meanwhile, a 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinder costs ₹1,903 for a new connection and ₹782 for a refill.
The price revisions reflect changes in international benchmark rates and the rupee-dollar exchange rate. Commercial LPG and ATF prices are reviewed on the first day of each month and vary across states due to local taxes.
Domestic LPG prices remained unchanged at ₹942 for a 14.2-kg cylinder, while petrol and diesel rates were also left untouched.
