Speaker Tesam Pongte Inaugurates Key Infrastructure Projects in Yatdam Circle, Focuses on Education and Rural Development

Changlang: Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Speaker Tesam Pongte inaugurated a series of infrastructure projects in Yatdam Circle, with a special emphasis on strengthening educational facilities in remote villages of the district.

The highlight of the programme was the inauguration of a ground-plus-one, eight-room RCC building for the Government Upper Primary School in Watlom Village, along with a four-room teachers’ quarters at the same site. The new infrastructure is expected to greatly enhance learning conditions and provide improved accommodation for teaching staff.

In addition, Pongte inaugurated a five-room school building for the Government Primary School at Kangkho Village, which includes a two-unit teachers’ bachelor barrack, and a community hall at Kangla Village.

During the event, the Speaker also distributed solar lanterns and sports equipment to students from both schools, encouraging the use of renewable energy and promoting physical activities among rural youth.

The event was attended by administrative officers, public representatives, heads of departments, and local leaders from across Changlang district.

Following the inaugurations, Pongte inspected the ongoing road widening project between Watlom and Thamiyang villages, urging engineers and contractors to maintain quality and meet completion deadlines.

The projects, he noted, underscore the government’s commitment to uplifting rural education and infrastructure, ensuring that even the most remote areas of Yatdam Circle benefit from inclusive development.
