Star Spotting Club enters semifinals of Lt. Rajen and Gopal Borgohain Memorial Football Tournament

Nagaon: In a thrilling match at the historic Kapahera Stadium, Star Sporting Club from Nagaon secured a spot in the semifinals of the Lt Rajen Borgohain and Gopal Borgohain Memorial Prize Money Football Tournament.

      The tournament, organized by the Kapahera Sports Association, witnessed an unprecedented turnout of spectators. In today’s quarterfinal match, Star Sporting Club delivered a stunning performance, defeating Warrior India FC from Guwahati 3-0.

        The match remained goalless until the half time and at 48 minutes when Prit Sonai scored the first goal for Star Sporting Club. Just a minute later, in the 49th minute, Mustak scored the second goal, and he sealed the win with another goal in the 71st minute. Mustak’s second goal was a testament to his skill, as he scored with a spectacular header.

       The match was officiated by former national referee Nasiruddin Ahmed as the match commissioner and Ohiduj Zaman as the referee, assisted by Pabitra Bora, Krishna Kanta Deka, Sahedur Rahman, and Kalyan Baruah.

         According to the tournament organizers, Suresh Deka and Dikram Borgohain, the next match will be played on November 1, where BTAD’s Bodoland FC will face Riverine FC from Baligaon.

        The tournament continues to draw large crowds, showcasing the excitement and passion of football in the region.
