Duliajan: In a landmark step towards digital transformation, Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL), the state’s highest profit-making PSU, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) today. The collaboration aims to introduce cutting-edge technologies to strengthen AGCL’s operations, safety, and customer services. The MoU was signed at the AGCL auditorium in the presence of Gokul Chandra Swargiyary, Managing Director, AGCL, and Jitesh Choudhary, Director, C-DAC, North East, along with AGCL Chairman Bolin Chetia, Vice Chairman Indra Gogoi, Independent Director Dhiren Handique, and CGM Rubul Baruah. The strategic partnership will focus on AI-enabled smart digital platforms for pipeline health monitoring, development of a Remote SCADA system for gas flow management, and automatic meter reading systems for efficiency. Plans also include creating a universal IoT gateway, a voice-enabled emergency response system, and edge technology solutions to detect hazards like gas leaks, fire, and smoke. AGCL MD Swargiyary further highlighted customer-centric innovations such as self-dispensing retail outlets and kiosk-based services. The collaboration is expected to pave the way for sustainable, technology-driven growth, ensuring safer operations and improved services for AGCL’s consumers across Assam.
