Lakhimpur: Two young men lost their lives in a tragic road accident that took place at Jokhoria near Narayanpur in Assam’s Lakhimpur district on Thursday night. The incident occurred on National Highway 15 when a two-wheeler (registration number AS07-A-0211) was reportedly hit by an unidentified vehicle.
The victims have been identified as Nabajyoti Das (20) and Mandeep Bora (22), both residents of Sensowa, Narayanpur. According to sources, the youths were returning home after watching Raas festivities in a nearby area when the accident occurred.
While Mandeep Bora died on the spot, Nabajyoti Das succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to the hospital. The tragic deaths have cast a pall of gloom over the Narayanpur area, leaving the local community in deep sorrow.

Earlier the same day, another fatal road accident was reported from Pathali Pahar, near Narayanpur, where a speeding dumper truck collided with a motorcycle (registration number AR01-K-8654) coming from Arunachal Pradesh. Both motorcyclists were killed on the spot.
The identities of the victims in the second accident are yet to be ascertained. Police have launched investigations into both incidents.
Local residents have expressed concern over the rising number of road accidents in the Narayanpur area, urging authorities to take immediate measures to enhance road safety.
